Ikhon: Demo 2011
05/09/11 || Lord K Philipson
Swedish, recorded in the infamous Abyss Studios… This is bound to be half decent, at worst. What Ikhon (Moniker World Championship yet again) deliver is some ok (semi-death/modern?) metal with a bit of groove and some thrashy’n‘heavy riffs to spice shit up. One could wish for a deeper growl instead of this mid-ranged vocal attack, but it works anyways. Ikhon aren’t a band destined to make a huge impact in the world, but they yet again prove that Sweden knows how to create better-than-average metal. Ultimately this is quite anonymous, but definitely decent, yes. Last off, kudos to the “Blood rapture” (Vomitory) rip-off riff ( that would be a… riff-off, right?) in “To be among thee on which the end has reached upon” (long song titles FTW).
6/10: You can find Ikhon in the middle of the race, trying to advance their way up the ranks. I appreciate the effort, but I just don’t see them in pole position any time soon. I just made F1 references (again?). We are all fucked.
After going thru that crap, you most likely wanna read something way more interesting. You do, admit it.
